Novartis Community Partnership Day
(26th April 2001)

On the 26th of April 2001,Novartis Singapore celebrated Novartis Community Partnership Day.An occasion celebrated to commemorate the formal merger of Ciba-Geigy and Sandoz 5 years ago.

The primary objective of this event is not only to foster camaraderie amongst the staff of Novartis,but also to spread cheer,happiness and smiles to the less privileged of our community.

With this intention in our hearts and minds,over 60 Novartis associates visited the Singapore Zoological Gardens with 25 children from MINDS(Movement for the Intellectually Disabled of Singapore). Memorable moments were shared on that day, where these children were treated to the different sights and sounds of unusual animals and the beautiful landscaping.But,it must be the joy and smiles that emanates from these children's faces, that would be etched deep in all our memories.

We certainly hope that this would not be just one day in the lives of Novartis associates, but this experience and satisfaction would encourage and motivate them to participate more intimately with other community work in the years to come.

Novartis Tennis Tournament
(May 2001)

Novartis Singapore held its inaugural Novartis Tennis Cup on 1st May 2001.This coveted cup drew enthusiastic response from over 50 doctors all over Singapore.

The month long tournament was contested at The Club situated at the Four Season's Hotel's indoor tennis court.

Winners:

Men's Doubles :
Dr Denis Nyam/Dr Tan Hai Chuang

Women's Doubles :
Dr Susan Toh/Dr Kwa Bee Hua

Played in a largely friendly atmosphere with infrequent display of emotional high,it was indeed an occasion for participants to foster closer relationship with one another.This was the underlying objective that Novartis wanted to achieve in organising this event.

With the successful and enjoyable closing to this year's tournament,all participants and organisers involved are looking forward to next year's Novartis Tennis Cup 2002!!
